I bought this for my son's dorm because he's got the smallest room in the suite with a desk that takes up half the room. I purchased the 48" table made of solid wood that comes in 2 pieces. They attach to each other with wooden dowels along the length of the 4 ft planks. I'd highly recommend viewing the product video in the description because it was helpful, and definitely reduced the time it took me to assemble by myself. Since I was transporting to his dorm, I kept it in 2 major sections - tabletop and legs. The metal brackets that flank the motorized rod easily secure to the underside of the table and have height adjustable "feet" that can be turned to accommodate uneven flooring. Before assembling, lay out the pieces that are numbered to correspond with the printed instructions, and count out the hardware that come in sealed packets. I do this as a common practice, and glad I did, because they give you 2 extra of dowels and screws just in case. It'll spare you the concern that you missed installing a part. The rod easily inserts into the motor and secures with a counterclockwise turn in 2 sections. It's got a few cable clips to help arrange the wires under the tabletop that come from the control panel and power source. It's quiet when raising the desk, so it won't wake up anyone else in the room if that's a concern. Highly recommended.Pros:- Spacious table, I’ve placed 2 money trees at the end of each corner, a laptop holder and multiple drinks on the table and it still feels like I have plenty of room.- Table moves up & down smoothly with no issuesCons:- Easy to build. However, I had trouble when it came to connecting the axel to the other end of the table. I’ve read other reviews where it sounds like folks didn’t figure it out - However, my boyfriend fixed this issue by moving the table up & down until the axel CLICKED into place.Overall, I am happy with this standing desk. It fits our needs for our home for my partner & I .(5’0 + 5’8). I purchased this desk because my boyfriend started WFH as well so we needed another desk in the house & also my leg would sleep after sitting for over an hour while working.I didn't expect what I recieved and that says alot! I ordered this desk as an alternative to buying a sit/stand system that sits on a desktop.It is a moderately heavy, sturdy and well designed desk. The raising and lowering is faster than I thought it would be and very quiet. The design has a good layout as to hide the motor and electrical wiring. There were adhesive wire management clips provided to help with that. The adjustable feet made leveling the desk easy. The controls are self explanatory and the presets are a brilliant addition.I highly recommend this desk.I had a standing desk at work and it pushed me to get one for my home. was hesitant as it was a huge purchase and with so man options did not know how this would fair. Truth be told, this desk is great! It goes much higher than I expected - perfect if you have multiple people using the desk. The motor/power control that adjusts the height is simple and works well - so far no issues (over 1 month). I wasn't sure about the two slabs and how that would work, but it's seamless and you can't tell once the desk is put together. Assembly took a bit longer than I expected (I was taking my time as well) but it was very manageable for one person to set up given a three hour .period. I enjoy the wide set up of the 55 x 24In one as well. Plenty of space for all my work as a grad student! Now I do plan to move ni the next year or so so I am expecting to dissemble the desk and re-assemble. I will try toremeber to come back and rate how easy this is or if it travels well without damage to the motor. Overall, great product, a bit expensive but if you plan to not move for a few years, this may be a great option for you!Took me about an hour to put together by myself - had no issues there. Legs are sturdy metal, and the desk moves smoothly up and down. The tabletop is 4 pieces so there are seams, and it's not the finest material out there. It's very obvious that it's particle board covered in a wood-grain laminate. But for me it was mainly function that I was looking for, and for the price this product is just fine.I’ve been wanting these tables for over a year. Finally bought a house and I have a whole room for my art space. These tables are perfect for my stained glass area. They’re very sturdy, they were easy to put together and work perfect in my space. And I’m not gonna lie, I’ll probably be buying a third table in the future.Sure it's a standing desk but she never stands at it. She's always in there sitting at it like it's a normal desk. If I ask "hey why aren't you in the standing position, woman!!??" I'm somehow being rude. Idk. I don't want to stand at my desk so I don't blame her, but then again I didn't buy a standing desk... 5 starsSince I'm getting older sitting in place all day while I'm on the computer seems to be taking more of a toll on my body than it used to so I decided to get a standing desk. They were a little too expensive before but the price has really come down on them and this one is very sturdy. So far it works great no complaints
