First off, it's not real leather or anything like "real" leather in the sense of touch, feel, or smell - instead it's more like a vinyl hybrid thats thin, shinny, and very smooth with little to no resistence in the surface it provides. That said, it comes faily large - I picked up the largest size, and it's perfect for my setup! Water doesn't absorb, it gives a nice large/even surface to work with, it's clean, has a great look, and feels just about perfect for my needs, especially at this price point!It does have a slight grain-like texture and give that immitates "real" leather but only slightly, and that's saying a lot for the cost. It seems like a pretty solid product all around, but like all artificial leather products I do have concerns with how it will hold up over time and age through different temp changes in the environment. For now the surface isn't showing any signs of bunching or tearing and while it did have the smell others have mentioned when I first unpacked it, it was gone after about a 12hrs of being drapped over a chair before use.Quick word of advise, read the directions - I almost didn't. The pad will come rolled up tight in a box, you'll need to un roll, flip and re-roll to get the curl out rolling against the original direction), and press down a bit on the re-roll to help flatten out the tightest part of the curl in the center. I also recommend doing this to both sides for best results. In my case, I did my re-rolls, then drapped it over my office chair over night by a cracked window. In the morning the smell was gone, the pad looked fairly flat, and when I put it on my desk it sat perfectly and was ready for use.I love the new large surface area on my desk, more then enough space to place my keyboard and various contollers with room to move things around :)I have been using this mat for a few weeks and love it. I used to have a clear plastic vinyl mat and after a few weeks it started to slid and your arms would stick to it and made it hard to write on and was super annoying. This mat doesn't slide, it's easy to wipe clean, your arms don't stick on it. When writing if you push hard or use a fine tip pen you can push through the paper I usually just put something under the paper or write lightly. Also. It looks really nice. We're setting up a desk for managing our bills, figuring our dinner, etc. and wanted something to give that corner of the room a little color. The light blue to me is really closer to a seafoam green, but I knew that already from the pictures and was hoping it was really the color in the picture. Several sizes available when ordering. It’s very easy to clean and lays very flat. Does not curl up at the ends. After a day it lay completely flat after I put it down in my desk even though it was rolled when it was delivered. I would buy again!!This made an old ratty blotter look new again. The blotter has leather right and left and a monogram to boot, but the center is a paper product that looks horrible. This product, although not real leather, works perfectly. I would recommend this product at around$30 to a new blotter at around $100.This product is just as described. It fits on my roll top desk very nicely. The blue/grey is a very nice color. The picture is just after taking the product out of the packaging. It laid completely flat right away and there was no smell as stated in some of the other reviews. I am very pleased with it. I hope that it wears well. I would buy it again.I bought the large size and it covers most of my desk.I have full use of my desk for writing or sewing or doing crafts. I know my desk is protected.
