I ordered this desk for my cat and I, and so far it's working out rather well. She was a big help putting it together, of course. I opened the box and sorted the pieces and counted things according to the instructions. DO READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND LOOK AT THE DIAGRAMS. I did, and it worked exceptionally well. You need to pay attention to which way those holes are facing so that things go together properly or you'll end up taking things apart. It all went together nicely and looks great in front of the double windows in my office. It suggested two people for assembly, but I found I did fine on my own, well, with the cat's help. My cat gets the right third of the desktop for bird watching and I get the rest of it for blogging and genealogy. We're both very happy with our purchase. The height between the shelves is a scant 13", so don't buy 13" fabric drawers to go in there as I did. They can be forced in there, but it's extremely hard to get them to slide back out. It's also not for a very wide chair. My chair only goes so far before the arms stop it from going any further, but it's close enough for me to work. So it's not a problem for me. I will get a measuring tape and take measurements in the next couple of days and come back and enter all those for anyone who wants them. I know how important they are when you're trying to plan your space. If I don't get them in place before you need, them, ask about them. I promise to get them for you.The finish is obviously a paper finish on compressed particle board. This is not fine furnishings and won't stand up to hard use, such as children. But for myself and my cat it is fine. It is a very attractive piece. Taller than your average desk by about 2", I found if I just adjusted my chair I was fine. Do ask if there's anything about this I've forgotten to mention.
