1)Just put this together last night (my husband). My Husband had to drill a couple holes that were missing, but it was fairly simple and took about 30 minutes. Tools are enclosed, but he used his own drill also.2)This desk is for my new WFH job. I needed something to fit dual monitors and fit on a 4-foot section of wall. This is great! I love that I can stand or sit as I find it VERY hard to sit still or at a desk for any length of time. I also bought a standing pad, ordered a new desk chair, and have a balancing-type stool that's used for standing desks.3)The simplicity of the design (I chose the blackest black) works well with our simple design. I can see it being used for YEARS in many ways!4)The motorized lift seems to work really well. The cutouts are perfect for my monitors. So far, so good!5) I used it today for the first time and really, really like it. The price is what sold me on it! My husband has one of the more expensive standing desks at work and they are 3-5X the price of this simple desk.6)I bought a simpler peddler I can also use easily under this desk while working (or at my personal desk while using the computer) and it fits perfectly with enough knee clearance (I'm taller at almost 5-9), soit checks all the boxes for me.I'll report back in a few months after daily use if I remember and Amazon prompts me, but so far, so great!Really great setup. Love it.I like this desk. It does the job and serves its purpose at half the cost of most standing desks. It was easy to assemble (shockingly so, I thought it would be more complicated) and I really like the way it looks and the aesthetic. Two quibbles, one minor and one a little more annoying: 1. With the two panels, there is slightly less sturdiness on the front panel and I feel like I can't fully lean on my desk. It's not a big deal though. 2. As other reviewers have mentioned, sometimes the up button stops working. When this happened for the first time, I remembered reading about it in the reviews and knew there was some kind of solution. I had to dig for it in the reviews but it worked. Repeating here for other shoppers: You have to hold the down button for at least 3 to 5 seconds (for me, after it was all the way down) and then you hear this click and it resets itself. As others mentioned, it's not a deal breaker, but is certainly annoying and something that the manufacturer should address since it's clearly a common issue and not a one-off. Tip: if like me the cables bug you (since there is no back) - I bought a basket that clamps on the desk to hold everything and it works great!I bought the 40x24-inch Vici model. It's a great desk: raises and lowers nearly silently, it's stable at all heights and it's a good looking desk. I've just completed the assembly. It didn't take long; the instructions were clear and well illustrated but...the instructions had me assemble the uprights, feet, transmission bar, crossbar and the support plates. This 50-pound steel assembly has to be maneuvered to line up 8 screw holes in the underside of the desktop. I can't say this part went smoothly for me. It required lifting, pushing, torqueing and I finally had to resort to using a rubber mallet.I would suggest attaching the support plates alone and slightly loose to the desktop and then bolt the leg assembly to the support plates. Then tighten everything up.I'm not a fan of the split desktop. There's no gap between the two halves but it looks like there is because there's a small bevel along the joining edge. There's also a bit of a step between the two halves. I'll need to make a shim. The manufacturer supplies two Allen wrenches but you'll also need a Philips screwdriver and a drill. You have to drill your own holes in the desktop on either side of the seam to secure the two halves to the crossbar.Regardless, the desk survived my abuse and performs well. It's a nice, solid desk and I might be tempted to buy another. On the whole it’s been a great desk so far (now that it’s been assembled). But getting there was a bit of a journey. The screws for the “feet” were barely long enough to attach them to the “legs” and when I inadvertently tightened them too much, the whole thing came undone. I reached out to the customer service, who, to give them credit, did respond within the day, however if I had left it up to them, I would have been without a workstation for too long to get away with. So off I went in search of the same screw, but longer… by just a little bit. It took two separate stops (perhaps others have had the same issue and there’s a run on the market for this oddly specific screw type and length?), but I ultimately came away with something I could use and feel good about keeping the desk from falling apart. The rest of the assembly was overall fine. When I communicated that it required the purchase of additional parts to complete said assembly, the customer service team didn’t really offer to make me whole, which is fine since it’s not like the screws were really breaking the bank, but it’s the principle of the matter, ya know? I had to knock a few stars off the assembly section because of that, but I am otherwise very happy with my purchase. A lot of the reviews I’ve seen talk about the desk getting stuck in the “up” position, but I haven’t experienced that… yet… *knocks on the wooden top of his freshly constructed desk*For those in the same boat as me looking for a screw that’s just ever so slightly longer: you want an M6 of at least 35mm length.I am a work-from-home programmer and I love how this allows me to choose whether or not I want to stand or sit while working. It is one of the best investments I have made. I also recently ran into an issue where the desk motor got stuck, and they showed me how to reset the motor (holding down for 20 seconds), which was very easy and saved me a huge hassle. This was one of the few height adjustable tables I found that had the size that I needed. The build is solid and compared to the IKEA table I have is much better. My only complaint is that the cover they have for the wire whole comes off a little too easily.very happy overall.
